Harriett DEAKIN (1841-1902)

Harriett DEAKIN was the daughter of Robert DEAKIN and Martha DEAKIN (née POWNALL). Harriet was born on 20 February 1841, in Stockport, Cheshire.

Harriet married Edward PARKINSON (b. 1841, Wigan, a Fireman in a coal mine) at St Mary’s Church, Stockport, Cheshire, in 1866. Edward and Harriet had the following children:

  1. George PARKINSON, b. c1871, Pemberton, Lancashire.
  2. Eliza PARKINSON, b. c1873, Wigan, Lancashire.
  3. Samuel Edward PARKINSON, b. c1880, Pemberton.
  4. William A PARKINSON, b. 1882, Pemberton, d. 4 Mar 1944
  5. John H PARKINSON, b. 1885, Pemberton.

By 1871 the family had moved to Pemberton, Lancashire and in 1881 Harriet and Edward were living at 2 Soho Street, Pemberton.

At the time of the 1901 Census, George and Harriett were living at 104 Warrington Road, Pemberton, Lancashire. Both Edward and son William were working as ‘Insurance Agents’. Eliza was employed as a ‘School Teacher’ and John as an ‘Electrician’.

Harriet died in 1902 in Manchester, Lancashire.
