Cyril BASHFORTH (1884-1951)

Cyril BASHFORTH was born in 1884 in Hull, Yorkshire the youngest son of Thomas, an iron moulder, and Elizabeth Bashforth.

By 1891, Cyril had moved to Wigan, Lancashire. His sister, Sarah, had married John Hartley Hodson, and Cyril worked for John Hodson as a Yeast Salesman.

In 1913, Cyril married Amy Nelson at St Catherine’s Church Wigan. Cyril and Amy had the following children:

1. Dorothy D. BASHFORTH, b. 1913 Wigan, d. 14 January 1914, aged 10 weeks at 289 Whelley, Wigan, buried plot G285, Lower Ince Cemetery, Wigan with John INCE and Catherine NELSON.
2. Ronald Lindsay BASHFORTH, b. 1914, Wigan, m. Hilda RIGBY in 1940 at All Saints Church, Wigan.
3. Joan Eliza BASHFORTH, b. 1915, Wigan, m. Frederick HASLAM in 1944 at St Michael and All Angels’ Church, Wigan
4. Amy D. BASHFORTH, b. 1920, Wigan.
5. Cyril Dennis BASHFORTH, b. 1923, Wigan, d. 2000.

Cyril Bashforth died in Wigan in 1851. aged 67 years.
