Rachael DEAKIN (1846-1898)

Rachael DEAKIN was the daughter of Robert DEAKIN and Martha DEAKIN (née POWNALL). Sarah was born in 1846, Stockport, Cheshire.

Rachael married John JOHNSON (b. Stockport, c1849, a Collier Machine Weighman) in Stockport, Cheshire, in 1875. John and Rachael had the following children:

  1. Thomas William JOHNSON, b. 1876, Pemberton.
  2. John James JOHNSON, b. 1879, Wigan, Lancashire.
  3. George Edward JOHNSON, b. 1881, Pemberton.
  4. Robert Deakin JOHNSON, b.1883, Pemberton, d. 1968, Wigan, Lancashire.
  5. Joseph Albert JOHNSON, b. 1886, Pemberton,
  6. Samuel JOHNSON, b. c1889

Rachael and John also adopted:

  1. Florence Emily TYRER, b. c1878, Stockport, Cheshire

In 1881 Rachael and John were living at 22 Alexandra Terrace, Pemberton, Lancs.

Rachael died, aged 51 years at Mitchell Street, Pemberton in 1898, and she was buried on 17 October 1898 at St John The Divine Church, Pemberton.

At the time of the 1901 Census, John was living at 42 Mitchell Street, Pemberton with his daughter Florence and her five sons. His sister-in-law, Martha BANKS was also living with them. By 1901, John had remarried and was living in Pemberton with his second wife, Mary.
