Deakin and Combe Education Grants

Every year, the Deakin and Combe Memorial Trust assists students with their educational costs. The Trust makes awards to students who are studying or about to study an agriculture-related course and whose parent(s) have contributed to the industry in England or Wales.

Candidates typically receive between £500 and £1000 towards expenses including training courses, laptops and books. The grants are made available by the continuing support from the Deakin family and that of the trust of the late Nora Combe. The Deakin and Combe Memorial Trust was formed in 1944 in memory of George Deakin MC (1896-1943), a vice-president of the NFU and chairman of the Pigs Marketing Board who was tragically killed in a road accident in 1943. Further information about how to apply for the grants can be obtained from the NFU.
